So after uni on Friday we thought we’d go get some nice Korean BBQ to satisfy our Korean BBQ cravings. We were gonna try Changgo which is famous for their 8-flavour pork belly set (although I think quite a few other Korean BBQ places have caught on to the hype now and also started offering similar 8-flavour meat sets) but since they don’t take bookings we didn’t wanna risk it so we opted for Woodo instead. I have heard good things about Woodo before so I was pretty excited to try this place. We made a last minute booking and they were able to accommodate us (7 people) on a Friday night. Note that when we arrived the place was pretty much at capacity so I strongly suggest making a booking for dinner.
The menu is your usual Korean BBQ affair plus a la carte meat add-ons; they also do hotpots and stone pot rice bowls (bibimbaps) and your usual appetizers and side dishes. The dessert menu seems to be lacking so we went elsewhere for dessert.
Beef and pork sets
Good service, great selection of side dishes, food portions were okay, not crazily generous but you won’t be fighting for that last piece of juicy beef rib either. We had 2 meal sets plus some bibimbaps to share and we were stuffed when we left. Each meal set comes with meat and a Kimchi/soybean soup and an egg thing which was awesome (I don’t know what it is, it’s like some savoury baked egg thing topped with spring onion, sesame seeds and sesame oil) and 2 bowls of rice and a plethora of side dishes. The quality of the meat is pretty good for the price, or you could always order better cuts of meat off of their a la carte menu, prices are in line with other Korean BBQ places.
Overall an enjoyable experience, although I did not see any storage around us to keep our jacket or blazer or whatever, so you may leave with that distinctive KBBQ smell on your clothes.
